Who's Bringing The FLAYED SKIN CHEESEBALL To The Halloween Party? Countdown To Halloween / BlogOWeen
Ho-hum. There are several recipes for the flayed skin cheeseball. I think it has lost its shock value. Here is how to take your party to the next level....
Recipe For "Screaming Flayed Skin Cheeseball":
- Cut a head sized hole into the serving table.
- Get someone to stick their head through the hole and cover their face up with the flayed skin cheeseball. Make sure to have a long tablecloth over the table so no one can see the person under it.
- When the first guest gets to the serving table, have the head start screaming.
Seriously! Would you eat this if you saw it at a party?
Christopher Lee's "Missing" Dracula Cape Found In Store During Inventory - Countdown To Halloween / BlogOWeen
Great horror collector story from 2007. The cape was missing for 30 years and was discovered in a London costume store while taking inventory!!!!
Christopher Lee's Dracula cape was found in a store in London.
Manager Emma Angel said she was "delighted" to have found the
cloak during their annual stock take.
"In the run-up to Halloween we are frantically checking our other
costumes, so that we do not inadvertently let a party-goer show up to a raucous
fancy dress party in any another precious pieces of film history," she said.
"We certainly won't be hiring this one out again in the near
future," she added.
The movie, which was directed by Terence Fisher, also starred Peter
Cushing who played Van Helsing.
The long overcoat which was worn by Cushing in the film was also found
and is currently being valued.
Dracula was the second movie Cushing and Lee made together after they
appeared in the 1957 film, The Curse of Frankenstein, together.
Lee, who is best known for playing villainous characters, played Roger
Moore's nemesis Scaramanga in The Man With The Golden Gun.
Most recently he appeared as Saruman in The Lord of the Rings trilogy,
and Count Dooku in the Star Wars prequels.
Universal Monster & Dark Shadows Horror Collectibles At The Turner Classic Movies (TCM) Online Store - Countdown To Halloween / BlogOWeen
Who knew that the online TCM store had monster collectibles? I don't know that I want to own any of them but it is always fun to look.
My favorite items are the copies of the Dracula ring and the covers of the Dark Shadows model kits.
I can't imagine spending $400 on a Larry Talbot cane replica. You would have to explain the significance to everyone and I'm not sure they would be impressed. The description says that there is a limited production of 400 pieces and that there are only 20 pieces available. Did the other 380 canes sell like hotcakes?

Tim Burton's MoMA Exhibit (November 22, 2009–April 26, 2010) Countdown To Halloween / BlogOWeen
Tim Burton had an exhibit at MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) a few years ago. The exhibit is long gone but some photos and interactive guides remain.
